About Bailey’s Moving and Storage
Bailey’s Moving and Storage is a full-service moving and storage company based in West Valley City, Utah. Operating as an Allied Van Lines agent, they provide residential and commercial moving services along with long-term and short-term storage solutions. Their warehouse at 1414 Gladiola Street, Suite 400 serves as a central hub for storing household goods, commercial inventory, and freight during transitions — requiring a reliable pallet rack system to organize palletized items across a large warehouse space.
The Situation
Bailey’s Moving and Storage needed to relocate their entire pallet rack system from an existing facility to their new warehouse at 1414 Gladiola Street in West Valley City. The rack had been serving as the backbone of their storage operation — organizing palletized household goods, commercial freight, and long-term storage items across multiple rows. Rather than purchasing all new rack for the new location, Bailey’s chose to have the existing system professionally torn down, transported, and reinstalled.
The project involved two different rack configurations: taller 16-foot sections with three beam levels for large palletized goods in the main warehouse area, and shorter 12-foot sections with two beam levels for lighter or smaller items. Both configurations include wire mesh decking on every level for solid shelf surfaces.
The Installation

The completed installation shows the full-scale pallet rack system in Bailey’s new warehouse. Green teardrop uprights with orange step beams and wire mesh decking extend in long wall runs along the concrete block walls. Red and white bay location labels (C9, F15, F16) identify each section for inventory tracking. An Aichi SV3246E scissor lift was used during installation to safely position upper-level beams and wire decking at height. The Material Handling Shelving & Storage sticker on the beams confirms the professional installation.
The Solution
Material Handling USA provided a complete turnkey relocation service. The crew first tore down all 27 sections of pallet rack at the original location — carefully disassembling uprights, beams, wire decking, and all hardware. The disassembled rack was then loaded and freighted to the new West Valley City warehouse. At the new site, the team reinstalled the entire system in two configurations:
16 Sections — Tall Configuration
192 inches high (16 feet) by 36 inches deep by 144 inches wide (12 feet), with 3 beam levels per section and wire mesh decking. These taller sections provide maximum vertical storage for large palletized goods.
11 Sections — Standard Configuration
144 inches high (12 feet) by 42 inches deep by 144 inches wide (12 feet), with 2 beam levels per section and wire mesh decking. The deeper, shorter sections handle wider pallets and bulkier items.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can existing pallet rack be moved to a new warehouse?
Yes. Material Handling USA offers full pallet rack teardown, relocation, and reinstallation services. The crew carefully disassembles the existing rack, transports it to the new facility, and reassembles it to match the original or an updated layout. This is significantly more cost-effective than purchasing new rack.
How long does a pallet rack relocation take?
The timeline depends on the number of sections and the distance between locations. A typical 20 to 30 section teardown, move, and reinstallation takes approximately 2 to 4 weeks including scheduling, disassembly, freight, and reassembly at the new site.
Does Material Handling USA offer pallet rack teardown services?
Yes. Material Handling USA provides professional pallet rack teardown services for warehouse relocations, reconfigurations, and decommissions. The team handles disassembly of uprights, beams, wire decking, and all hardware with proper equipment and safety procedures.
Is it cheaper to move pallet rack or buy new?
Moving existing pallet rack is typically much more cost-effective than buying new, especially when the rack is in good condition. A teardown, move, and reinstallation service preserves your existing investment while getting your new warehouse operational quickly.
