Material Handling USA recently installed a selective pallet rack system at Ogden’s Flooring and Design in Roy, Utah. The project brought organized vertical storage to the flooring retailer’s backroom warehouse, replacing ground-level pallet stacking with a proper racking system.
Ogden’s Flooring and Design has been Utah’s flooring experts since 1974, operating over twelve store locations throughout the state. The Roy location at 1878 W 5150 S serves homeowners, businesses, and contractors across the Roy, Ogden, and Weber County communities with carpet, luxury vinyl, laminate, and hardwood flooring.
The Project
The installation features three 12-foot tall selective pallet rack uprights with teardrop connections, creating two bays of storage against the warehouse wall. Twelve 8-foot step beams span four levels, and every level includes 42-by-46-inch wire mesh decking for solid pallet support and fire code compliance.
The system gives Ogden’s staff direct access to every storage position from the front, making it easy to pull specific flooring products when customers are ready to purchase. The four beam levels accommodate different product sizes — taller openings at the base for bulky carpet rolls and standard spacing above for boxed vinyl and laminate.
