Material Handling USA completed a pallet rack repair and new installation project at Motion Industries’ distribution center in Salt Lake City, Utah. The project combined two services — replacing damaged pallet rack uprights and installing a full new rack system along the warehouse wall.
Motion Industries is one of the largest industrial MRO replacement parts distributors in North America, with over 550 operations and 12 distribution centers. Their Salt Lake City facility stocks thousands of bearings, power transmission components, electrical automation parts, and hydraulic components for customers throughout the Intermountain West.
The Project
Over years of continuous warehouse operations, forklift traffic had caused significant damage to multiple pallet rack uprights — bent columns, compromised baseplates, and cracked concrete around anchor points. Older MIRAK-branded uprights had reached the end of their service life.
Material Handling USA removed the compromised columns and replaced them with new teardrop-style selective pallet rack uprights with fresh baseplates and concrete anchors. The second phase delivered a complete new rack installation along the warehouse wall in Zone 25 — green powder-coated uprights with orange step beams spanning five or more levels, wire mesh decking on every level, and cross-bracing throughout.
The completed installation runs the full length of the warehouse wall, giving forklift operators direct aisle access to every storage position — critical for a distribution center that picks and ships thousands of orders daily.
