About Rise Broadband
Rise Broadband is the nation’s largest fixed wireless internet service provider, delivering high-speed broadband to nearly 200,000 residential, commercial, and enterprise customers across 16 states. Founded in 2005 and headquartered in Englewood, Color ado, the company rebranded from its original regional divisions in 2015 to unify under the Rise Broadband name. Rise Broadband specializes in expanding broadband coverage to previously underserved and unserved ruralandsuburban communities, providing a competitive alternative to traditional cable and satellite providers. Their Lindon, Utah facility at 142 North 1800 West supports regional operations serving customers throughout the Wasatch Front and surrounding communities.
The Situation
As a major internet service provider with operations spanning multiple states, Rise Broadband maintains a large inventory of networking equipment, cable, routers, transceivers, and infrastructure components at their Lindon, Utah facility. The warehouse needed to accommodate two distinct operational requirements: high-density storage for palletized equipment and materials, and restricted-access zones to secure sensitive networking hardware and high-value inventory from unauthorized access.
The existing warehouse space had the vertical clear height to support tall racking but lacked any organized storage infrastructure or security barriers. Rise Broadband needed a solution that would combine efficientpallet rack storage with wire mesh security partitionsto create enclosed, lockable areas within the open warehouse footprint. The layout required careful planning to balance maximum storage density with clear forklift access aisles and properly sized doors for material movement.
The Solution
Material Handling USA designed a comprehensive warehouse storage and security system for Rise Broadband’s Lindon facility. The installation combines selective pallet rack throughout the warehouse with wire mesh security cage partitions creating two distinct secured zones around the racking.
The pallet rack system features twenty-six 20-foot tall by 42-inch deep teardrop-style upright frames with green powder-coat finish, paired with orange step beams at 8-foot and 12-foot lengths. Every beam level includes 42-by-46-inch wire mesh decking for solid pallet support and fire code compliance. Twelve 24-inch column protect or s guard the rack base from forklift impact, and row spacers tie back-to-back rows together for structural stability.
The wire mesh security partitions enclose two separate areas within the warehouse. The primary secure zone features a 10-foot sliding door for forklift access, enclosing a 20-by-50-foot area with pallet rack inside. A second secure zone includes 4-foot sliding doors for personnel access, surrounding multiple rows of racking. Both enclosures use heavy-gauge welded wire mesh panels with steel posts and m or tise locks, creating fully enclosed, lockable storage areas that maintain airflow and visibility throughout the facility.
Features
Selective Pallet Rack
Teardrop-style selective pallet rack with 20-foot tall green uprights and orange step beams provides direct forklift access to every pallet position, ideal for the varied inventory sizes in telecommunications operations.
Wire Mesh Decking
174 wire mesh decks installed across all beam levels create solid shelf surfaces for palletized equipment, improve fire sprinkler penetration for code compliance, and allow visual inventory inspection from below.
Wire Mesh Security Partitions
Heavy-gauge welded wire mesh panels with steel posts create fully enclosed, lockable cage areas around the pallet rack, protecting sensitive networking equipment and high-value inventory from unauthorized access.
Sliding Security Doors
A 10-foot sliding door on the primary enclosure accommodates forklift traffic, while 4-foot sliding doors on the secondary zone provide personnel access. All doors feature m or tise locks for controlled entry.
Forklift Column Protect or s
Twelve 24-inch steel column protect or s bolted at the base of rack uprights abs or b forklift impact, preventing damage totherack structure in high-traffic aisles.
Row Spacers
Steel row spacers connect back-to-back rack rows, maintaining proper aisle alignment and adding structural rigidity to the overall system for long-term stability.
Project Layout
The warehouse layout was engineered to create two distinct secured zones within the open floor plan. The design drawing below shows the pallet rack rows positioned inside the wire mesh enclosures, with sliding doors sized for both forklift and personnel access.
Our Process
Site Survey
Measured the warehouse, identified clear heights, floor condition, and mapped the two zones requiring security enclosures.
Layout Design
Engineered the combined rack and cage layout to maximize storage density while maintaining forklift aisle clearances and door access points.
Delivery
Co or dinated freight delivery of all pallet rack components, wire decking, security panels, posts, doors, and hardware to the Lindon facility.
Installation
Professional crew installed the pallet rack system first, followed by the wire mesh security partitions and sliding doors, completing both zones on schedule.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is selective pallet rack?
Selective pallet rack is the most common warehouse storage system, featuring upright frames and h or izontal beams that allow direct forklift access to every pallet position. It maximizes flexibility for facilities storing a variety of product sizes.
Why combine pallet rack with security cages?
Wire mesh security partitions around pallet rack protect high-value inventory, sensitive equipment, and restricted materials from unauthorized access while maintaining visibility and airflow throughout the storage area.
What are wire mesh security partitions?
Wire mesh partitions are heavy-gauge welded wire panels mounted in steel posts to create secure enclosures. They feature locking sliding or hinged do or sand are commonly used in warehouses, data centers, and telecom facilities.
How tall can pallet rack be installed?
Pallet rack height depends on building clear height and forklift reach. Systems with 20-foot uprights are common and support multiple beam levels for maximum vertical storage.
What is wire decking for pallet rack?
Wire decking is a welded wire mesh shelf that sits on pallet rack beams. It provides a flat surface for pallets, improves fire sprinkler penetration for code compliance, and allows visual inspection from below.
Does Material Handling USA install pallet rack and security cages in Utah?
Yes. Material Handling USA designs, delivers, and installs pallet rack systems and wire mesh security partitions throughout Utah and nationwide.
Can security cages be added to existing pallet rack?
Yes. Wire mesh partitions can be installed around existing rack systems without modifying the racking, creating secure zones within an operating warehouse.
