Why Labs Specify Eagle MHC Stainless Casework

Eagle MHC is the laboratory and cleanroom division of Eagle Group, the stainless fabricator founded in 1947 in Clayton, Delaware. The MHC division builds the same welded, heavy-gauge construction into inset laboratory casework — base cabinets, sink bases, drawer banks, tall cases, bench frames, countertops, shelves and carts for pharmaceutical, vivarium, pathology, cannabis, test lab and cleanroom-adjacent spaces.
Labs choose stainless inset casework over painted steel or laminate millwork for three reasons: the room gets washed down, the room gets reconfigured, or the reagents eat coatings. Eagle MHC casework is freestanding and modular — type 304 cabinets with removable or partial-height backs, adjustable intermediate shelves and wire-style pulls, and separate tops, so a work surface can be replaced without touching the base.
MH-USA has represented Eagle Group from Salt Lake City since 1997 and quotes the MHC lab line nationwide. This page covers the Eagle-specific detail that decides whether a package installs cleanly.
Where this page sits
This is the Eagle MHC brand page. For planning across manufacturers see laboratory furniture, lab shelving and storage or the laboratory material handling hub; classified spaces are on Eagle cleanroom products.
Eagle MHC Stainless Inset Lab Casework: Cabinet Families
Eagle MHC casework is ordered as individual cabinets, not a system you buy whole. Base cabinets come in 35" standing or 29 1/2" sitting heights, before the top. Drawer banks store instruments at the point of use, door cabinets swallow glassware and waste bins, open bases keep a cart underneath, and corner or angled units turn a run without wasting the corner. Eagle states its inset casework construction follows SEFA 8M metal design practices.
Single Bank Drawer BasesFull-length drawers, wire pulls, removable back. Splits: five 6", ten 3", four 7", three 10".
Double Bank Drawer BasesTwo drawer banks in one body — ten 6" or eight 7" drawers — for pipette and small-parts storage.
Door & Drawer Combination BasesHinged door beside a drawer bank in 3", 6" or 7" heights. The default general-purpose lab cabinet.
Full Height Door BasesHinged doors, adjustable shelf, removable back — for carboys, waste bins and glassware racks.
Open Base CabinetsOpen-front bases with an adjustable shelf, so a cart or tote slides under the bench.
Corner Bases & Angled UnitsCorner bases with or without doors, plus angled sink bases, so a run turns without a dead pocket.Eagle MHC Sink Bases, Lab Service Sinks and Drop-Ins

Wet stations go wrong when three decisions disagree: the cabinet, the bowl and the top. Eagle MHC builds all three. Sink base cabinets come in standing and sitting heights with hinged doors, wire-style pulls and a partial-height back panel that leaves room for the trap and supply lines; angled sink bases put a bowl in a corner without forcing a mitered top over a square cabinet.
Laboratory service sinks are freestanding fixtures: 14 gauge type 304, welded and polished bowls with radius corners, rolled edges, an 8" backsplash with mounting clips, stainless legs and feet, in one to three compartments with or without sloped drainboards. Drop-in bowls with no deck mount into a top where the countertop is the primary surface.
| Wet station type | Eagle MHC approach | Specify it when |
|---|---|---|
| Sink base + fabricated bowl in the top | Sink base with hinged doors and partial back; bowl fabricated into the top | You want a continuous, fully cleanable bowl-to-deck transition |
| Angled sink base | Sink base built on an angle so the bowl sits in a corner of the run | The wet station lands where two bench runs meet |
| Freestanding lab service sink | 14 gauge type 304, welded bowls, 8" backsplash, one to three compartments | Glassware washing or a wet station with no casework |
| Portable hand sink cabinet | Self-contained stainless cabinet with fresh and waste water tanks | There is no plumbing where you need a hand sink |

Eagle MHC Lab Work Tables, Bench Frames and Height Adjustable Tables

Bench frames carry the top where you do not want cabinets under every inch. All type 304, 22" or 28" deep, 35" standing or 29 1/8" sitting, on 2" square legs with leveling bolts and leg shoes; heavy-gauge corner angles are welded to the legs and tapped for a bolt-on 5" apron. Frames come plain, with one drawer or with two.
Lab work tables use a 14 or 16 gauge stainless top with an adjustable undershelf or tubular base. Ends turn down 90° so tables butt end to end, sound-deadening tape kills the ring, and Eagle’s patented uni-lok® system adds rigidity.
Height adjustable tables come two ways: pinned leg tables adjust 30" to 37" by leg pin, and electronic drive tables adjust 29" to 40" with a synchronized drive in each leg and a controller with lockout and travel limits. Both are 22" or 28" deep, frame-only or with a 16 gauge top.
Bench Frame with One DrawerOne stainless drawer under the work surface for tools at a seated station.
Pinned Leg Adjustable Height TableManual pin adjustment 30"–37", frame only or with a 16 gauge top.
Electronic Drive Adjustable Height TableSynchronized drive in each leg, 29"–40", controller with lockout.
Knee Space Apron KitsMount between bases in 24"–48" widths, with or without a drawer.

Eagle MHC Stainless Steel Lab Countertops

The countertop has to be right the first time, because it is fabricated to your drawing. Published construction: 16 or 14 gauge, type 304 or 316 stainless, with other gauges and types available for chemical-resistance demands. Standard front edge is square or box marine; splashes are made per specification; working surfaces and fabricated bowls have coved sanitary corners, so no square internal corner traps residue.
Seams and shipping limits drive the layout. Maximum length without a seam is 144" with no end splash, reduced 5 1/2" per end splash; joints are a hairline seam or a field weld per spec. L- and U-shaped tops are mitered and factory welded to a maximum 96" x 96" so the top fits a standard trailer. Tops carry stainless hat channels and sound-deadening underneath.
- Give us the wall-to-wall field dimension, not the cabinet total — scribe allowance lives in the top
- Backsplash-mounted faucets need a splash at least 2" deep; deck faucet holes center about 1 1/2" from the bowl edge
- Choose 316 over 304 where chlorides or aggressive reagents are part of the daily routine

Eagle MHC Lab Wall Shelves, Overshelves and Pegboards

Stainless lab wall shelves are 16 gauge with a reinforced center hat channel and a 1.25" rear upturn that stops bottles walking off the back. Shelves adjust in 1 1/2" increments on 16 gauge tubular uprights with laser-cut notches, triple hooks per end, on 36 1/2" uprights. Choose upturned bookends to contain a row of reagent bottles or downturned bookends so trays and racks load from the side; a front wire ledge is optional. Eagle states the shelf line is engineered to SEFA recommended practices.
AdjusTable® work surface systems pair a solid or perforated work surface, brushed or electropolished, with post-mounted overshelves on posts numbered in 1" increments at a 34 1/2" working height; the cantilevered version leaves the bench front open for a hood. Pegboards finish a glassware drying station: 304 stainless, 6" polymer pegs, 4" drip trough.
Wall Shelves, Upturned BookendsThree-shelf system, 4 1/2" upturned bookends, optional wire ledge.
Wall Shelves, Downturned BookendsSame shelves and uprights, open ends so trays load from the side.
AdjusTable® with Wire OvershelvesTwo 14" wire overshelves on numbered posts.
AdjusTable® with Cantilevered OvershelvesOvershelves cantilevered off the rear posts; bench front left open.
Stainless Pegboards304 stainless, 6" polymer pegs, 4" drip trough, 36" drain tubing, wall bracket.Tote Carriers, Benchside Carts and Mobile Lab Transport

Benchside carts and tote-box carriers park at the end of a bench run and carry totes, trays and racks between stations, so specimens stage on a cart instead of crowding the work surface. Mobile lab carts and exchange carts use five chrome-plated or stainless wire shelves on 63" posts with 5" resilient stem casters (two braked) and plastic shelf markers; shelf configurations, caster styles and accessory packages are selectable.
Mobile vertical storage cabinets are the enclosed alternative: 24" deep on 5" brake casters, sloped top optional. For hospital and clinical labs, basket-and-tray cabinets with 45 slides on 1 5/8" spacing stage instrument sets. For storage bigger than the lab, see laboratory shelving and storage.
Tall CasesType 304, five adjustable shelves; 84" flat or 89" sloped top.
Clinical Storage Cabinets45 basket slides at 1 5/8" spacing, solid or framed glass doors.
Mobile Vertical CabinetsEnclosed stainless on 5" brake casters, sloped top optional.Measure the door, not the cart
Every mobile lab cart quote should start with the narrowest door, elevator and airlock the cart has to pass, plus the shelf clearance the tallest tote needs loaded. Send us those three numbers and the cart specifies itself.

Fillers and trim are not an afterthought
The forgotten line on nearly every stainless casework order is trim: toe scribes cut in the field to follow an out-of-plumb wall, toe fillers between cabinets, corner fillers that carry the toe kick around a turn, rear filler panels closing the chase, and knee space panels. Leave them off and the install stops being cleanable exactly where an auditor looks — so we add trim to every Eagle MHC quote by default.

SpecFAB® Custom Lab Fabrication and Eagle CAD/Revit Files

Eagle’s SpecFAB® division fills the gap between a standard catalog model and a fully bespoke fabrication. In lab work that gap shows up constantly: a bench run three inches longer than any standard cabinet combination, a top with a cutout for a drop-in instrument, a bowl at a non-standard depth, a wall table bracketed around existing services. SpecFAB will also modify a standard model — move a bowl, change a length, add a cutout — usually faster than fabricating from scratch.
Send a sketch or field dimensions and we return a fabrication quote. Eagle also publishes a CAD and Revit library and spec sheets for the standard catalog, and we pull the right files for your schedule.

How to Order Eagle Lab Products Through MH-USA

We represent Eagle Group and quote the Eagle MHC lab line as a package. 1. Send a lab plan, bench elevation, schedule or field dimensions. 2. We build the cabinet, frame, top, shelf, sink and trim list and hunt the problems that cost money later — knee space on a sink base, an overshelf fouling a hood, a 144" top that cannot make the turn into the room. 3. You get a line-by-line quote with Eagle model numbers, spec sheets, CAD/Revit files, lead times and freight. 4. We assemble the submittal, release fabrication (approval date sets the ship date on drawing-driven work), then coordinate freight and install sequence.
