Eagle Cleanroom Tables and Work Surfaces
Eagle’s cleanroom tables are heavy-gauge type 304 stainless, with 14-gauge tops in electropolished or brushed finish reinforced underneath with hat channels so the top does not drum or flex. Tops carry a 1½-inch rolled-down edge front and rear, and ends turn down 90° so tables butt end to end or sit flush to a wall without a debris-collecting gap.
The base uses the patented uni-lok® stainless gusset system (patent #5,165,349), welded into the hat channel rather than bolted on, which cuts the lateral movement you feel in a bolted frame. Legs and crossbracing are 16-gauge, 1⁵/₈-inch diameter, welded front to back, with centre or rear knocked-down crossbracing for knee space. Tables ship on 1-inch adjustable bullet feet, and perforated models are alcohol-wiped and cleanroom bagged.
Perforated versus solid tops. Perforated tables use 3/4-inch perforations on 1-inch centres for a minimum 40% open area, so a laminar flow bank above the table keeps moving instead of stalling. That is the right choice under filters and in staging areas where airflow uniformity beats surface containment.
Solid tops win where the work is wet or where small components could drop through. Plenty of suites run both: perforated staging tables at the entry, solid work tables at the process step.
Wall-mounted tables solve the floor-cleaning problem outright: 14-gauge brackets with a pass-through hole for an electrical run, built for frequent washdown, 200 lb capacity, flat top or 1½-inch upturn or 5-inch backsplash. Nothing touches the floor, so a scrubber runs straight underneath and rolling cabinets push in and out below.
Eagle AdjusTable® Work Surface Systems and Countertops
Where a fixed table is not flexible enough, Eagle’s AdjusTable® Work Surface Systems turn the bench into a configurable post-and-shelf system. The surface is stainless, solid or perforated, brushed or electropolished, with a hat channel underneath. Two 33-inch front posts and two 63-inch rear posts are numbered in 1-inch increments so every shelf lands level and repeatably — useful when a validated bench is rebuilt after a shutdown. Working height is 34½ inches.
Two overshelf styles are offered. Wire overshelves are two 14-inch shelves on the rear posts and a pair of 29-inch front posts, keeping the airflow path over the bench open. Cantilevered overshelves are two 12-inch shelves on the rear posts only, leaving the bench front clear for an operator reaching under a hood. Bases come with or without a wire undershelf.
Stainless countertops and overlays handle the fixed-casework side of a suite: 16- or 14-gauge type 304 or 316, with other gauges available for specialised chemistry. Standard front edge is square or box marine; splashes are made to specification. Critically for cleanability, all working surfaces and fabricated sink bowls have coved sanitary corners horizontally and vertically — no square internal corner for residue to lodge in.
Joints are the detail nobody asks about until install day. Eagle offers a hairline seam or a field-welded joint. Maximum unseamed length is 144 inches with no end splash, reduced 5½ inches per end splash — the number that decides whether a 16-foot run is one top with a field weld or two with a visible seam.
Eagle Cleanroom Shelving: Solid, Perforated and Wire
Shelving is the largest surface area in a clean space, so the choice between solid and open wire affects your particle profile more than any other purchase. Eagle has manufactured wire shelving for over 35 years, in stationary and mobile models in wire, polymer and solid.
Open wire maximises airflow and minimises the surface particles can settle on. Eagle’s wire shelves use the patented QuadTruss® design (patent #5,390,803): 10-gauge mat wires welded to 6-gauge support wires and serpentine trusses, with four-wire front and rear truss assemblies — which is why a wire shelf carries a real load with no solid deck under it.
Solid shelving is specified where powders, small items or packaging would fall through wire, or where every surface must be wipeable. Eagle’s solid shelving is hemmed with a two-fold thickness of heavy-gauge steel and a marine edge on all four sides. Numerically calibrated grooved posts, split sleeves and aluminium corner castings give 1-inch adjustment across the full post length, with leveling feet for uneven floors.
Quik-Set® solid shelving is the heavy-duty option: 14- or 16-gauge stainless (or epoxy-coated galvanized), flat, embossed or louvered, 1,000 lb evenly distributed per shelf. In clean spaces specify stainless.
Wall shelves recover the space above a bench without adding legs to mop around. Eagle’s stainless lab wall shelves are 16-gauge with a reinforced centre hat channel and a 1.25-inch rear upturn, adjust in 1.5-inch increments, and take bookends or a front wire retaining ledge. The general wall-mounted shelves come in 16-gauge 430 or 16-/14-gauge 304 with stud-welded brackets.
Enclosed and lockable storage covers the rest. Eagle’s vertical storage cabinets are type 430 units, 24 inches deep in 36- and 48-inch lengths, with three shelves on 4-inch centres, an 18-gauge body, 20-gauge double-pan doors and keyed handles. Specify the slanted top under a filter bank — a flat cabinet top is a dust shelf at eye level.
Eagle Gowning Racks, Garment Racks and Cleanroom Lockers
The gowning room is where contamination control is won or lost, and the hardware is unglamorous: somewhere to hang a gown so it touches nothing else, somewhere to sit, and somewhere to keep clean garments clean. Eagle builds the whole set.
Freestanding gowning racks with hanger rail use a 1½-inch welded tube frame, shipped knocked down, in electropolished or brushed 300-series stainless. Hanger slots are standard on 3-inch centres (other spacing available) and an optional domed cap secures hangers so they cannot be removed. Nylon dissipative feet are standard; single, double and cantilevered models are offered. Hangers are not included — that surprises people on the first order.
Wire gowning racks are the lower-cost route: a full-length 1-inch grooved tube suspended under a QuadTruss® wire shelf on two 2-gauge hooks, in chrome or stainless. A hanger-slot version does the same job without the tube.
Wall-mount gowning racks free the floor entirely. The hanger-slot model is 24 inches wide in 48-inch (17 hangers), 60-inch (22) or 72-inch (27) lengths with an open wire top shelf for laminar flow. The hooks model is a compact 14-inch-wide design in 48-inch (30 hooks), 60-inch (38) or 72-inch (46) — the right answer in a narrow vestibule where a freestanding rack blocks the door swing. Both are offered electropolished or chrome.
Mobile garment racks move gowns between laundry, storage and the gowning room. Eagle’s units use QuadTruss® chrome-plated wire shelves and posts, 5-inch polyurethane casters with a rubber donut bumper, and a 1-inch chrome hanger bar that takes most standard hangers. Where the rack crosses a classified boundary, ask about all-stainless equivalents.
Garment and supply lockers are usually those vertical storage cabinets with slanted top and keyed locks. For an auditable gowning room, use the mix: wall-mount racks for gowns in use, a lockable cabinet for clean stock, a mobile garment rack for turnaround.

Eagle Cleanroom Carts, Pass-Through Transport and Mobile Workstations
Transport is the most under-specified part of most cleanroom packages. Our rule: a cart that crosses a classified boundary should be dedicated to one side of it, or built so it can be fully wiped down at the pass-through.
Open wire carts are the cleanroom default because there is almost nothing to collect dust. Eagle’s wire stem caster carts carry four shelves on four 63-inch posts in Eaglebrite® zinc or chrome, with 5-inch casters in poly or resilient tread. Wire basket utility carts suit light benchside work.
All-stainless carts are what you specify when the cart has to survive repeated sporicidal wipe-downs: three stainless shelves welded to angle legs on a galvanized caster frame, with a 1-inch upturn on ends and rear or on all sides — take the all-sides version wherever a spill must not run off. Four 4-inch swivel plate casters are standard.
Pass-through and exchange carts handle the airlock problem. The EC series carries five chrome wire shelves on 63-inch posts with 5-inch resilient stem casters (two braked); other configurations are available. The workflow matters more than the cart: handing a loaded cart across a pass-through to a mirror cart that never leaves the clean side beats pushing one cart through the facility.
Mobile workstations keep documentation off the work surface: open wire for laminar flow, a keyboard drawer, optional mouse shelf, chrome or stainless finish, 5-inch casters (two braked). Mobile dunnage racks handle the nothing-on-the-floor rule — open wire, 1-inch grooved posts, three-sided frame, 14-inch height, four 5-inch casters.

Three decisions drive cleanability: the alloy, the finish, and how much of the assembly is something other than stainless. Get those right and the rest is dimensional.
Autoclavable and washdown requests
Autoclavability and full washdown are item-specific, not line-wide. All-stainless welded assemblies with no plated hardware are the candidates; chrome-plated wire, epoxy-coated shelving and units with plastic sleeves or non-stainless casters are not.
