Arms rooms are the least forgiving storage project in a government facility. The
regulation dictates construction, the inspection is unannounced, and the consequence of a
finding is not a punch list item. AR 190-11 governs physical security of arms, ammunition,
and explosives for Army facilities, with parallel service and agency requirements
elsewhere, and it drives cabinet construction, mounting, locking, and how the room itself
is secured.
The practical design problem is almost always capacity. Arms rooms are small, weapon
counts grow, and optics, lasers, and accessories now take as much space as the weapons. We
lay out arms rooms using weapon racks and mobile carriage systems that raise density
without violating access or accountability requirements — and we do it on the actual room
dimensions rather than a generic template.

Emergency Management and Preparedness
Emergency management storage has a different failure mode than everyday warehousing:
the inventory sits untouched for years and then has to be found and moved in hours. That

Floor capacity is the constraint people forget
High-density mobile shelving concentrates a great deal of weight on rails. On upper floors and older slabs, structural review comes before product selection — we flag it early rather than after the order is placed.

Installing on a military installation or a secure government facility is a logistics

coordination and escort, work often has to happen around a mission schedule or a court
