Modular buildings around the data center
Data center campuses need more than data halls. Security staff need booths at the gates, operators need a network operations room, construction teams need site offices for the build-out, and equipment like batteries, telecom gear and spares needs secure rooms.
We supply the modular rooms and buildings that support the data hall: panel-built rooms inside an existing building and freestanding buildings on the campus. We do not build or commission IT white space, cooling plants or power systems; those come from your data center design and MEP contractors.

This page is part of our in-plant and industrial modular buildings range. For offices inside warehouses and facilities see modular in-plant offices; for entry booths see guard booths.
Modular buildings data center owners use
Gate and security boothsBooths at vehicle gates and visitor entrances with transaction windows, HVAC and conduit for access control.
Network operations roomsRooms with sound-rated walls, data and power for operator workstations and wall displays.
Secure rooms and cagesWindowless rooms with steel doors for spares, media and customer equipment storage.
Outdoor equipment enclosuresWeather-tight enclosures with HVAC for telecom, controls or support equipment.
Construction site officesFreestanding offices for general contractors and owners during the build-out.
Raised offices in warehousesOffices on steel platforms in shipping, receiving and spares warehouses on campus.Temporary buildings during construction

Large campuses take years to build, and construction teams need offices, meeting rooms, badging stations and break space for that whole period. Modular buildings give them better space than trailers and can be moved to the next phase or the next campus when the work is done.
Our modular buildings vs. portable trailers comparison covers the tradeoffs, and prefabricated exterior buildings covers roof, skin and foundation options.
Security checkpoints and gatehouses
Data center campuses usually control access at several layers: perimeter gates, visitor entrances and loading docks. Prefabricated booths give officers a conditioned post with glass on the sides that matter and conduit for cameras, intercoms and badge readers.
Where a threat assessment calls for it, booths and checkpoint buildings can be built with ballistic-rated walls, glazing and doors. See ballistic-rated buildings and prefab guard booths for industrial sites.

Network operations and control rooms
| Item | What to plan |
|---|---|
| Layout | Operator positions, wall displays, supervisor office and a small meeting room |
| Acoustics | Sound-rated walls and doors to keep equipment and warehouse noise out |
| HVAC | Sized for people plus displays and workstation heat; tie-in to building systems if wanted |
| Power | Dedicated circuits; connection to UPS or emergency power per your electrical design |
| Data | Cable entries and pathways, raised floor or overhead tray as designed |
| Security | Card access provisions, solid doors and limited glazing where needed |
| Fire | Rated assemblies and suppression coordinated with your fire protection design; see fire suppression options |

What about prefabricated data halls?
Prefabricated data halls and power modules are specialized products that integrate IT racks, cooling and power, and are built and commissioned by data center module manufacturers. If your project needs one, we can supply the surrounding buildings: security, operations, storage and site offices. That keeps procurement simple while the IT modules come from a specialist.
- We supply: modular rooms and buildings, booths, enclosures, offices, storage and site buildings.
- By others: IT racks, cooling plants, UPS and generators, switchgear and commissioning.
- Shared: drawings, utility entries and coordination with your design team.
How a data center support building project runs
Tell us the use
What happens inside the building, how many people or what equipment, where it sits and when you need it.
Layout and drawings
We return a layout and drawings with doors, windows, HVAC and electrical shown, plus a quote with exclusions listed.
Fabrication
After drawing approval, lead times are typically 4 to 8 weeks, subject to confirmation, for fabrication and freight.
Delivery and install
Panels or finished units arrive by truck and are assembled or set in place, then your trades make the final connections.
What to send us for a quote
- Building type and use: booth, NOC room, storage, enclosure or site office.
- Location: inside an existing building or on the campus, with photos or site plan.
- Headcount and equipment inside.
- Security level, including any ballistic requirement.
- Utilities and the timeline for construction or operations.
Protect Campus Buildings: Bollards and Railing
Modular buildings are quoted per project. Steel bollards and pipe safety railing that protect booths, doors and equipment from vehicles can be ordered online.
