Every locker in these four categories is a Tennsco locker. Prices are current online prices for the lowest-priced one-wide locker in each tier; three-wide units, colors, depths and assembled versions are listed inside each category. Freight is quoted by destination; some common sizes are in stock at select manufacturers, subject to confirmation.
Who Makes Tennsco Lockers?
Tennsco lockers are built by Tennsco, LLC, a family-owned steel storage manufacturer founded in 1962 in Dickson, Tennessee. Tennsco makes its lockers, shelving, cabinets and workbenches in its own plants in Dickson — the company describes eight manufacturing facilities totaling about 1.6 million square feet — and states that it does not outsource any products or major components. Its products are certified SCS Indoor Advantage Gold for low VOC emissions.
For buyers, that matters in three ways. Parts and replacement doors stay available for years, colors match from one order to the next, and the same locker can be bought welded or unassembled. MH-USA sells the Tennsco locker line online and quotes full locker rooms, so this page is a practical buyer’s guide: which Tennsco line fits which job, what the published specifications say, and how to order without surprises.

Tennsco Locker Lines: Standard, Ventilated, C-Thru and More
Tennsco builds its standard tiers — single, double, triple and box — with three door styles: solid standard doors that keep contents private, ventilated doors and sides for airflow, and C-Thru doors with clear panels so contents can be checked without opening the locker. Around those sit several specialty lockers. Here is what each one is for.
Ventilated Tennsco lockers are the usual choice for PE rooms and gyms; our athletic lockers guide compares them with heavy-duty, open-front team and wood lockers. For hallway banks, see school lockers.
Two more Tennsco lockers solve specific problems. The 16-person locker puts 16 box openings (12″ wide × 12″ high × 18″ deep) around a 47-7/8″ coat rod, so a whole crew gets a lockable compartment plus shared hanging space. ADA compliant lockers lower the shelf and coat hooks for reach from a seated position and add an oversized key cap; Tennsco offers them as single-tier lockers, the bottom locker of a double tier or the bottom two of a triple tier. See our ADA lockers guide for how many you need. Tennsco cell-phone lockers are currently quote-only.

The same brand covers very different rooms. These are the combinations we quote most often, with the guide that goes deeper on each one.
Tennsco Locker Sizes by Tier
Tennsco publishes these opening sizes for its standard lockers. Not every width, depth and height combination is built in every color and door style, so treat the table as the menu and confirm the exact model on your quote. Our locker sizes and dimensions chart covers overall heights across brands.
| Tennsco locker | Opening widths | Depths | Latch / hooks | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Single tier | 12″, 15″, 18″, 24″ | 12″, 15″, 18″, 21″, 24″ | 3-point latch; 3 coat hooks, plus coat rod on 18″+ deep; hat shelf | Uniform changes, full-length coats |
| Double tier | 12″, 15″ | 12″, 15″, 18″ | 2-point latch; 3 coat hooks per opening | Jackets, shirts, bags; twice the people per wall |
| Triple tier | 12″, 15″ | 12″, 15″, 18″ | 2-point latch; 3 coat hooks per opening | Gyms, health clubs, high headcounts |
| Box (5 or 6 high) | 12″, 15″ | 12″, 15″, 18″ | Padlock hasp; optional built-in lock | Phones, purses, lunches |
| 16-person | 12″ (16 openings 12″ high) | 18″ | Padlock hasps; 47-7/8″ coat rod | Break rooms needing hanging space |
| Combination | 18″ or 24″ overall | 21″ | 3-point latch; hooks and coat rod | One person, maximum storage |

Heights and legs. Most Tennsco lockers come with or without 6″ legs. A 12″ × 15″ single-tier locker with legs, for example, stands 66″ tall with a 60″ opening (Tennsco STK-121560-1). Taller 72″ bodies on legs reach 78″. Three-wide units with legs use four rear legs for support. Lockers without legs sit on a base: use a closed front and end base so the gap underneath does not collect trash.
Triple tier in practice. A triple-tier column splits the height into three doors with roughly 20–24″ openings — enough for a backpack, gym bag or boots, not for hanging a coat. Use it where nobody changes clothes and wall space is short; our triple-tier locker guide shows the trade-off.
How Tennsco Lockers Are Built
Tennsco’s published specifications and brochure list the construction details below. They are the useful facts to compare when you are weighing brands or writing a bid specification.
| Component | Standard locker | Ventilated locker |
|---|---|---|
| Door | One-piece 16-gauge steel, 24-gauge ribbed pan stiffener welded inside, two rubber bumpers | One-piece 14-gauge steel with diamond perforations |
| Door frame | Welded 16-gauge steel | 16-gauge steel |
| Body / shelf | Steel body; shelf with triple-bend front flange | 16-gauge body and shelf, 18-gauge back, perforated sides |
| Box-locker doors | One-piece 18-gauge steel | Ventilated box doors, 12″ × 12″ openings |
| Hinge | Double-leaf five-knuckle hinge with secured pin | Heavy-duty five-knuckle hinge |
| Handle / latch | Recessed handle (padlock sits inside the door face); steel locking bar with spring-actuated, polymer-cushioned latches | Recessed handle, steel locking bar with polymer latches |
| Finish | Five-stage phosphatizing pretreatment, electrostatic polyester/epoxy powder coat, 250+ hour salt-spray rating | Same powder-coat process |
Why the details matter. The recessed handle is the feature buyers notice first: the padlock sits inside the door face instead of sticking into the aisle, so it is harder to kick off and nothing snags clothing. Behind it, the locking bar engages the frame at three points on single-tier doors and two points on double- and triple-tier doors.
Tennsco also designs for noise. Rubber bumpers, door stiffeners and polymer-cushioned locking channels cut the clang of a busy shift change or class change — a real difference in an office-adjacent break room. Tennsco strongly recommends anchoring all lockers to the floor or wall; we include anchoring in every installation we quote.

Welded (Assembled) vs. Unassembled Tennsco Lockers
Most Tennsco standard lockers come two ways, and the choice changes price, freight and labor more than it changes the locker.

Welded / assembled lockers arrive as one rigid unit with an electric-resistance-welded body (spot welds no more than 6″ apart per Tennsco’s welded spec). They cost more and ship larger, but go straight to the wall: set, level, gang together and anchor. Ventilated, C-Thru and combination lockers are welded only.
Unassembled (knock-down, KD) lockers ship flat, which lowers freight. Doors and frames come pre-assembled; the body bolts together with zinc-plated #8-32 hardware, and Tennsco includes instructions and an assembly tool. Budget installer time per locker — on a large room, assembly labor can outweigh the freight savings.
Rule of thumb: small orders, tight access or a few replacement lockers favor KD; full locker rooms on a schedule usually favor welded units with professional installation.
| Welded (assembled) | Unassembled (KD) | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | Higher | Lower |
| Freight | Larger, heavier shipment | Flat-packed, lower freight |
| On-site labor | Set, level, gang and anchor | Assemble body, then set, level and anchor |
| Door styles | Standard, ventilated, C-Thru, combination | Standard door styles |
| Best fit | Full rooms, fast install, abuse | Small orders, tight access, budget |
Tennsco Locker Accessories and Finishing Parts
Accessories are what make a row of lockers look built-in and stay clean. Tennsco makes the full set:
- Sloping tops (one-wide and three-wide) stop clutter and dust collecting on top of the lockers.
- Front and end bases close the gap under lockers without legs.
- Boxed end panels (flat or sloping) give a finished end to a free-standing row.
- Fillers and corner fillers close the space between lockers, walls and corners.
- Number plates, coat hooks and ADA stickers, plus replacement latches, bumpers and doors.
- Benches — hard maple laminate tops on pedestals for the aisle in front.
Browse locker accessories online, read our locker accessories guide, or let us list the right parts on your quote so tops, bases and fillers match your exact locker sizes.

Tennsco vs. Lyon Lockers
We sell both brands, and both are made in the USA. They are close enough that the deciding factors are usually color, the exact size you need and lead time, not quality. Published facts side by side:
