Steel Lockers for Tulsa Employers
Tulsa runs on shift work: aerospace maintenance and manufacturing, energy companies and their field crews, distribution centers along I-44 and US-169, the Port of Catoosa, hospitals and a large public sector. Every one of those buildings needs a secure place for each person’s coat, bag, phone and lunch, and many need room for uniforms, PPE and gear that comes back dirty or wet.
Material Handling USA plans and supplies steel lockers for Tulsa, Broken Arrow, Owasso, Sand Springs, Jenks, Bixby, Claremore and the rest of northeastern Oklahoma. You get a layout and quote from our project team, and lockers ship from the manufacturer to your dock. The full buyer’s guide to sizes and construction is on our employee lockers hub; this page covers what matters for Tulsa-area projects.

Which Steel Locker Fits Your Crew?
Every steel locker is one of three basic layouts, set by how many doors share a column. Start with what people store, then pick width, depth, door style and locks. Each card links to the full guide for that type.
| Single-tier | Double-tier | Box (4–6 tier) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Doors per column | 1 | 2 | 4 to 6 |
| Lockers on 12 ft of wall (12″ columns) | 12 | 24 | 48 to 72 |
| Hanging space | Full-length coveralls, coats | Jackets, shirts | None — small items |
| Typical Tulsa uses | Aerospace, energy crews, public safety | Warehouses, schools, retail | Offices, call centers, phone-free floors |
| Detail guide | Single-tier | Double-tier | Box lockers |
Need something in between? Triple-tier lockers give three bag-size compartments per column, and heavy-duty welded lockers stand up to rough industrial use. End panels, corners and doors reduce the real count on any wall; we confirm it in your layout.
Locker Applications in Tulsa
These are the Tulsa-area projects we plan most often. Each card links to a detailed guide for that kind of facility.
Lockers for Energy, Aerospace and Plant Crews

Crews in oil and gas, pipeline, utility and plant work often keep two sets of clothes: street clothes and flame-resistant or company-issued workwear. That usually means a full-height single-tier locker per person, or a double-tier locker where workwear is laundered on site and only a jacket and bag go home.
For gear that comes back damp, choose ventilated doors and sides. Tennsco lists ventilated versions of its single-tier, double-tier and box lockers. For rough daily use, heavy-duty welded lockers hold up better than standard knock-down units. A locker room bench in front of the bank gives crews a place to pull boots on and off.
- Count peak headcount at shift change — outgoing and incoming crews plus contractors and seasonal staff, not the average number on site.
- Separate clean and dirty where your safety program requires it: two lockers per person, or a separate change room for workwear.
- Mix tiers in one room. A short run of full-height lockers for people who change, and double-tier or box lockers for everyone else, is often the best use of a wall.
- Phone-free floors: put box lockers at the entry to the floor so workers drop devices on the way in.
Planning a Locker Project in Tulsa
Plan for heat and humidity. Oklahoma summers are hot and humid, and locker rooms in warehouses, hangars and field buildings are not always air-conditioned. Louvered or ventilated doors let damp clothing air out and cut down on odor. Where a locker room has showers or a wash-up area nearby, ask about finishes and ventilation before you order.
Size for the gear, not just the person. A 12″-wide locker holds a jacket and bag; coveralls, a hard hat and a winter coat need 15″ wide or 18″ deep. Tennsco and Lyon list 12″ and 15″ widths, 12″, 15″ and 18″ depths, and 66″ or 78″ overall heights with 6″ legs; exact combinations vary by line. Full specs are on our locker specifications page.

Anchor every bank. Tennsco strongly recommends that all lockers be anchored to the floor or wall, and multi-wide units are bolted together so the bank acts as one piece. We supply the anchoring details from the manufacturer and build to any requirements your engineer, architect or building official sets.
Check the floor and the route in. Lockers need a level floor along the whole run. Assembled banks are tall and heavy, so we confirm dock or liftgate delivery, door widths and elevators before freight is booked. Knock-down (unassembled) lockers ship flat when access is tight. Sloped tops, closed bases, end panels and number plates are on our locker accessories page.
| Tulsa-area site | Typical projects | What to send us |
|---|---|---|
| Tulsa, Broken Arrow, Owasso, Jenks, Bixby | Plants, distribution, hospitals, schools, offices | Headcount, wall lengths and a few photos of the room |
| Port of Catoosa and Claremore | Manufacturing, logistics, terminals | Shift sizes, PPE stored, dock or liftgate details |
| Sand Springs and Sapulpa | Industrial, energy service, public works | Gear list (coveralls, boots, hard hats) and ventilation needs |
| Rest of Green Country and eastern Oklahoma | Agencies, schools, military and tribal government buyers | Purchasing rules (for example a single-purchase limit) so we can structure the quote |
Recent Locker Projects Near Tulsa
We have not published a project inside Tulsa yet. Our nearest locker project is in McAlester, about 90 miles south, and the two related projects below show how we plan locker rooms and secure storage elsewhere.
Army ammunition plant, McAlester, Oklahoma. A U.S. Army installation in southeastern Oklahoma needed three non-pass-through evidence lockers. Each locker had to stay under the plant’s single-purchase limit, so we quoted them as three separate purchases. The buyer first looked at a pass-through model and chose key-access non-pass-through Fasco units in 7-, 10- and 15-compartment layouts.
The lesson for Oklahoma agencies and military buyers: tell us your purchasing rules up front, and we will structure the quote to fit them. Read the McAlester evidence locker case study, or see our full evidence lockers guide.
