Modular buildings for Salt Lake Valley plants and warehouses
Material Handling USA is headquartered in Salt Lake City. As an authorized dealer for a leading U.S. modular building manufacturer, we supply in-plant offices, guard booths, clean rooms, equipment enclosures, E-houses and exterior buildings across the Salt Lake Valley.
Many of our published projects are here, from a ceramics plant to a West Valley City 3PL, so we know the building types local plants ask for.

The Interstate 15, Interstate 80 and Interstate 215 corridors carry much of the valley’s freight, and the industrial areas of West Valley City, Salt Lake City’s northwest quadrant, North Salt Lake, Woods Cross and West Jordan hold the warehouses and plants we supply. For the full product range see our in-plant and industrial modular buildings; for statewide delivery see modular buildings in Utah.

Modular building types for Salt Lake City facilities
Every building is factory-built from insulated wall panels and quoted per configuration. Good fits in the valley include in-plant offices in leased warehouses, two-story offices in high-bay buildings and guard booths at truck gates. See the full range on our in-plant and industrial modular buildings page, and booth-only options on our guard booths page.
In-plant officesSingle rooms to multi-room suites on the plant floor.
Two-story officesMore rooms on the same footprint, with a steel stair.
Guard boothsGate, truck-entrance and parking booths with HVAC.
Cleanrooms and clean roomsHardwall rooms for clean assembly, inspection and labs.
Equipment enclosures and E-housesRooms for machines, compressors and switchgear.
Exterior buildingsOutdoor-rated buildings engineered for site loads.In-plant offices for Salt Lake City warehouses and plants

Most Salt Lake Valley offices we supply go into leased warehouses. A free-standing modular office can leave with the tenant at lease end, which is why ESL Vision chose one.
Start with our modular in-plant offices page, or go straight to a standard size: 8 x 8, 8 x 10, 10 x 10, 10 x 12, 12 x 12, 12 x 16 feet.
- Placement: keep doors out of forklift lanes and add guardrail or bollards where trucks pass (see our forklift protection guide).
- Layout: plan windows toward the floor you supervise; our in-plant office design guide covers sizing and room counts.
Seismic and code notes for Salt Lake City
Salt Lake City sits along the Wasatch Fault, so seismic design matters for exterior buildings and for in-plant offices with storage roofs or second floors. Buildings are engineered for the site’s seismic, wind and snow loads under the adopted building code.
Steel frames and bolted panel connections are anchored to the slab or foundation as the engineer specifies. See our seismic design and anchorage guide.

- Anchorage: confirm slab thickness and anchor type early; older warehouse slabs can change the anchor plan.
- Storage roofs and second floors: these add mass, so they get their own structural review.
- Winter: valley snow and inversion-season cold call for heat sized for the room, especially for exterior booths.
- Fire protection: sprinkler heads inside a roofed room are by your fire contractor; see fire-rated in-plant offices.
Permits in Salt Lake City
Permits are usually required for occupied modular buildings, including many interior offices. Check with Salt Lake City Building Services for sites inside city limits, or the building department of West Valley City, South Salt Lake, West Jordan or whichever city holds your site, and Salt Lake County for unincorporated areas, before you order. We supply drawings for the submittal; see our permits and code compliance guide.
